Serve with Tea or coffee as well as a compliment to vanilla ice cream. The recipe calls for a jelly roll pan but we have made it without one as well.
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup Fruity extra virgin Olive Oil from Olive Oil Etcetera
1/2 cup butter (melted or cooled) or 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Tablespoon Anise seed
Mix well, and then add:
3 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
Mix and bake in greased and floured 11x15 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350F for 25 - 30 minutes. Cut while warm into biscuits like biscotti. Lay toast on its side and bake another 5 - 10 minutes.
