Add to coffee grinds before brewing for an amazing spiced flavor or in traditional chai tea or as a baking spice. It has all of the authentic flavors you would imagine such as ginger, cinnamon, green cardamom pods, star anise, and cloves. The smell is spiced heaven in a jar and so much better because it is already ground.
How to make tea with these spices:
We advise you use one part milk to one part water, and the chai spice to your desired strength. The recipe requires the following:
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3 strong black tea bags
- 1 tablespoon Sutter Buttes Chai Spices
- ¼ cup Sugar – or to taste
Combine the water, milk and chai spices in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for approximately 5-6 minutes and then add the sugar to your desired level of sweetness. Strain the tea to hold back the spice and tea bags from the spiced mixture. Place in your favorite mug, and enjoy!
